- This piece depicts the inside of a blacksmith shop. There is a man working over the open fire in the middle of the room, while another is standing close by watching him work. There are a couple of men sitting on barrels close by also watching. Behind the working man is a small tub which might be holding water. There is an anvil close to this tub with a couple of tools leaning against it. There is a man close to the anvil and a couple of other in the doorway talking. There are tools hanging on the wall next to a window on the left side as well as near the window on the right side. There appears to be a bench under the window on the left.
